The Dream to create Camara Gardens Apartments Brufut began in 2007 when Bax (my husband) and I purchased a plot of land full of grasses and plants. Despite the passing away of Bax in 2010, all my Gambian and UK family and friends supported me to create the beautiful Camara Gardens. We had a few setbacks along the journey, many headaches, lots of fun, laughter, and a lot of love for each other and the dream to achieve. The dream became a reality in 2018 when we opened our doors and hearts to our guests.
Meet Denise the Camara Gardens owner
I have worked around the world in hospitality and tourism for 20+ years. I’m from the UK and speak English and French. I came to Gambia in 2004 to work as the Thomson (TUI UK) manager. I fell in love with the Gambia, my husband, the family, and the Gambian people. After visiting Gambia many times over 15 years I finally moved here in 2018 to make my dream come true! Before opening Camara Gardens I worked as a manager for reputable travel companies in various beach tropical destinations and ski resorts. I’m very friendly and have a wealth of knowledge of the tourist industry and all the wonderful things to see and do in Gambia

Adjoining Camara Gardens Apartments is "Camara Kunda", home to my adopted family. We have amazing love, support, and respect for each other, I couldn’t do the businesses without them! All family members are very keen to make sure that you have a great holiday too. They help with cleaning, daytime and evening security/gateman, pool cleaning, maintenance etc
